Seller's Notes:A striking pair of vintage mid-century modern dining chairs with exceptionally tall sculpted wood backs, narrow woven cane center panels, striped upholstered seats, and slender tapered legs. These chairs have an especially strong architectural silhouette. Rather than using cane across the entire back, each chair has a narrow vertical woven panel surrounded by large sections of open space. The result emphasizes the dramatic height of the chairs while keeping the overall design visually light. A broad, gently curved crest rail forms the top of each chair and flows into long outer back supports. The cane panel is separately framed within the center of the back, adding texture and detail without overwhelming the streamlined construction. Below the seat, simple rails and long tapered legs provide a restrained counterpoint to the sculptural upper frame. The seats are upholstered in broad alternating cream and champagne-toned stripes, creating a subtle contrast against the darker wood. Each chair bears a “DENMARK” stencil underneath. Sold together as a pair. A great choice for a mid-century dining setting or for use individually as desk or accent chairs.
