World Market is a global-inspired brand that creates pieces of all styles. Its focus on fun colors and patterns makes it a top pick for eclectic and boho rooms.
So where could you have found the FIRST World Market? Try Fisherman’s Wharf in San Fransisco California back in 1958. The brand’s founder, William Amthor, like many successful businessmen was onto something when he realized the residents of San Fransisco loved the discounted retail furniture. He expanded in the Fisherman’s Wharf area, was wildly successful, and continued to expand across the states.
One of the first item’s sold back in the brand’s beginning was a Rattan furniture item, and you can see this style of furniture is still incredibly popular today and definitely still prominent on World Market’s website!
World market definitely keeps up with trends, so its important to shop their collections regularly. We put together a list of a few of our favorites that we’ve seen from the brand.
Starting with tables, we love the weathered wood drop leaf table (anything drop leaf is amazing for space saving furniture!) and the extension wood dining table (another great multi-functional furniture piece as you can entertain for a few or dine for a party!). While we love their dining room furniture, the world market living room furniture is really the best focal point of the brand. For starters, the world market blackly and samara chairs are both stunning, sleek and look expensive without being budget breakers. We also love their hairpin coffee table for a modern furniture vibe! If you're looking for classy and a little less funky, World Market also has tons of marble top tables and coffee tables! Or you could even go with the teak wood slice coffee table if you like a more rustic feel.
Like mentioned previously world Market is best known for their rattan furniture, including their handwoven black rattan chairs, peacock accent chairs, wishbone chairs, all of which are super on trend right now. The brand also has a great selection of leaning full length mirrors!
