Vintage Black Windsor-Style Spindle-Back Armchair

Product details

Seller's Notes:This vintage wooden armchair combines a black painted finish with slim gold-toned accents and an open spindle back. Two curved rails frame a small decorative tablet at the top, giving the chair a recognizable detail without adding much visual weight. The back spindles extend down to a shaped wooden seat, while rounded arms reach forward from the tall rear posts. Angled front arm supports add definition to the sides, and smaller uprights beneath the arms echo the slender lines of the back. Gold-toned bands appear throughout the frame, highlighting the posts, spindles, supports, and legs. Fine outlining around the seat and center tablet ties these accents together. The limited color palette makes the chair easy to combine with both painted furniture and natural wood pieces. Splayed legs and connecting stretchers complete the base. The open construction keeps the overall appearance light, making it a useful accent in a bedroom, entryway, or living room arrangement. It could also accompany a writing table, with the 27-inch arm height taken into account when checking clearance. At 21.5 inches wide, the chair offers a compact alternative to a fully upholstered accent chair. Its traditional form can bring contrast to a simpler room or blend into an interior filled with vintage furniture and artwork. Dimensions: 21.5″ W × 15.5″ D × 35″ H. Seat height: 18.5″. Arm height: 27″. Condition: vintage finish worn, scuffs/scratches, edge wear, discoloration, finish loss, see photos.
