Knoll Womb Living Lounge Chair & Ottoman

Product details

Seller's Notes:Received from my family as a gift on my 83 birthday. I certainly love it, but it’s the large biggest model and it is too wide for my size. It's barely used and I repeat is in perfect condition without any mark of use. Pick uo from my condominium through the loading dock of receiving or through the valet. Condominium has a Port Cochere that is covered and it's quite possible that will fit a median SUV with foldable back seat.

Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1948, the groundbreaking Womb Chair defied the era’s conventions of what a chair could be, both in the techniques and technology that allowed for its form, and ultimately, in its nonprescriptive function. Its acceptance of all postures speaks to the primal comfort of the womb—the security of which Eero believed people yearn. Upon its release, the designer remarked, “Now, more than ever, we need to relax.” His words, and the Womb Chair, remain as resonant today as ever.
