Vintage Neoclassical Accent Chair

Product details

Seller's Notes:A classic vintage Louis XVI-style armchair featuring a carved cream-painted frame and muted striped upholstery. The tall rectangular back is upholstered in vertical stripes of green, gold, cream, and neutral tones, echoed across the generously padded seat cushion and armrests. Carved details throughout the exposed frame give the chair its distinctive French neoclassical character. The arms terminate in scroll forms, while carved foliate accents decorate the supports. Rosette blocks appear above the slender tapered legs, which are finished with vertical fluting. The combination of straight architectural lines and restrained carved ornament is characteristic of Louis XVI-inspired furniture and gives the chair a tailored, elegant appearance. Its substantial seat and open-arm design make it particularly versatile as an accent chair in a living room, bedroom, reading area, office, or dressing space. A charming vintage piece that works naturally with traditional and French-inspired interiors but can also provide an interesting classical contrast in a more eclectic room.
