Seller's Notes:A vintage Southampton console that stands out through its mix of materials and the shape of its base rather than sheer size. The half-round top is framed in dark-finished wood with a softly scalloped edge. Within that frame is a woven cane surface protected by removable glass, creating a layered top with much more warmth and texture than a standard glass console. The cane remains visible through the glass and brings a subtle pattern to the piece without making it feel busy. Underneath, ornamental scroll brackets add movement around the center of the table before opening into a three-footed base. The curved profile of the legs works especially well with the demilune top, giving the table a graceful silhouette from the front and sides. Southampton was the occasional-furniture line of Southwood Furniture Corporation, a Hickory, North Carolina company known for traditional furniture and historically influenced forms. That background makes sense here—the table has clear Regency-inspired elements, but the cane-and-glass treatment keeps it lighter and easier to mix with vintage, traditional, or eclectic interiors.
