Seller's Notes:Modern Craft | Built to Breathe, Built to Endure My work isn’t loud—it’s deliberate. I don’t chase perfection; I refine what nature leaves behind. Every curve, joint, and surface begins with respect for the material and ends with something that feels alive in the room. This shelf is built from locally harvested black locust, often called the ironwood of North America. It’s one of the densest, most weather-resistant hardwoods on the continent—naturally rot-proof, incredibly strong, and remarkably sustainable. When combined with modern eco-resins, it becomes something new: a material that carries the toughness of exterior timber into refined interior furniture. The natural knots are filled by hand with eco-epoxy and powdered charcoal, preserving the character of the wood while sealing each imperfection in a smooth, glasslike depth. Dimensions 75″ tall × 44″ wide × 14.5″ deep Shelves: 11″ deep usable space Design A clean, modern silhouette rooted in Japanese and Scandinavian design—where proportion, honesty, and balance matter most. Its quiet geometry makes it versatile: a sculptural bookshelf, open storage for curated objects, or a calm vertical accent that grounds a space without demanding attention. Construction Every joint is mortised and tenoned—not simply glued, but engineered. Each connection is reinforced from within by a thin, carefully applied layer of plant-based EcoPoxy, used sparingly and precisely. The joinery is strategically designed to allow for natural wood expansion and contraction, ensuring strength without stress. This thoughtful union of ancient technique and modern material logic creates a structure meant to last for generations. Finish Hand-finished with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, a natural finish certified safe for children’s toys under EN 71 standards. Its proprietary blend of hardening plant-based oils and beeswax forms a resilient surface—resistant to water rings, stains, and daily wear. Sanded to 400 grit and hand-buffed, the surface feels organic and warm—inviting touch rather than avoiding it. Maintenance The finish requires almost no upkeep. An occasional wipe with a scratch guard or furniture wax maintains its natural luster. Reapplication of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil is only needed after sanding or repair—there’s no need for routine recoating. The breathable finish lets the wood age gracefully, deepening in color and character over time. Why It’s Different Most furniture today is built to meet demand. This was built to meet time. Black locust and eco-resin form a rare partnership—old-world durability fused with modern restraint. It’s furniture that endures quietly, the way good things should.
