Simmons Mid-century Modern Writing Desk

Product details

Seller's Notes:As a seller with deep sentimental attachment to this mid-century modern writing desk, I can share its cherished history. Crafted with hardwood, it still boasts its original rich walnut finish, though my uncle and the prior owner added a protective varnish during a special project from their childhood. This desk, measuring 27.9W x 18D x 29.5H, continues to radiate with that varnish, though it bears minor white paint marks and a faint ring where the varnish succumbed to a hot cup years ago. The years have left their mark with small scratches, a ring where the varnish lifted on the top left of the desk and light scuffs, but the drawers glide smoothly, and the desk remains as sturdy as ever, with no wobble. It is now available for pick up in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, where it can continue its journey with a new owner.
