Seller's Notes:Vintage Royal Metal Manufacturing Company steel dresser, believed to date somewhere between the late 1930s and the 1960s. The earlier portion of that range is supported by the Royal Metal crest found inside the drawer, while the construction, laminate top, and overall design suggest possible later mid-century or institutional use. This piece is constructed entirely of steel and retains its original two-tone green painted finish, along with a laminate top featuring metal edge trim and original hardware. The clean lines, solid build, and subtle industrial character reflect the era when metal furniture was used in both government settings and residential spaces. A particularly interesting detail is the “USA-CE-M” stamp on the back, which, based on research and feedback from collectors, may relate to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This raises the possibility that the dresser was government-issued or used in a military or federal setting, although this has not been fully confirmed. Similar construction and hardware have been noted on known institutional and government furniture from that period. Despite being told by some sources that Royal Metal pieces are common, we have not been able to locate another dresser with this exact combination of design, color, and markings.
