Seller's Notes: 100% Authentic console table designed by Pascal Mourgue for the Les Colonnades collection for ARTELANO Paris in 2001. This piece was beautifully made in France and retailed for around $2500. This rare item is included as part of the French National Furniture Collection under the inventory number GME-17608-001. https://collection.mobilier-national.fr/objet/GME-17608-001 The Les Colonnades collection was meant to evoke the beauty, elegance and grandeur of classic architecture. The elegant legs, are meant to mimic architectural columns supporting roofs, porches, etc. The table is ingeniously constructed with 3 sculptural, barrel-shaped, solid beech wood black stained legs that fit into three precut holes in one of the glass table tops. The top portion of the wood leg then screws onto the bottom part of the leg, making the glass appear to be floating on the legs. The top glass sheet simply sticks to the rubberized top of the 3 legs. The composition is well balanced and stable. Corners are trimmed to avoid injury/chipping - really well-thought through design! Because the 2 pieces of glass are separated by 3”, you can use the table to display decorative plates or bowls or photos. The measurements are 51” (W) x 17.75” (D) x 33” (H). Pascal Mourgue, the designer of this console, is a frequent contributor to Ligne Roset designs. ARTELANO Paris is a French editor of high-end contemporary furniture since 1972. ARTELANO is the 5th best known contemporary collection in its domestic market and won a large number of awards and the company's collaboration with internationally known designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni and is on par with other well-known luxury furniture makers, including Ligne Roset, Roche Bobois, Poliform, Cassina, B and B Italia, Molteni, Vitra, etc. In my opinion, this table is also reminiscent of sculptural vintage Fontana Arte pieces. The stained solid beech wood barrel shaped legs and simple modern lines evoke a similar simple, natural aesthetic. Impossible to find and a definite collector’s item you won’t be seeing in other homes! In new condition with no signs of use. Comes from a pet-free, smoke free home. Being sold as we just bought a larger console table and no longer need this one.
