Open design metal legs with two-tone metal finish on arms and base. We've had the sofas for less than 2 years. We are replacing with a different color entirely. There is a small area of slight discoloration that isn't noticeable unless really looking at it- it is located on the upper back portion of one sofa. We get A LOT of complements on the sofas!
