Mr. Brown London Sofa Mohair Velvet

Product details

Seller's Notes:The original owners had this sofa custom made by Mr. Brown London ten years ago, and kept it in a living room no one was allowed to use because they didn't want the sofa to be harmed, or possibly even exhaled on. It's in *impeccable* condition. We bought it on Facebook Marketplace a year ago and kept it in storage while waiting to close on our apartment in Manhattan. It breaks my heart that it doesn't work in our living room, as it's one of the most elegant pieces of furniture I've ever had the honor to meet. The upholstery is a just-barely-cream mohair velvet with pale blue piping. The six square legs are dark brown, with a graceful taper. The single bench cushion is a cushiony foam with a down/feather topper, and the back is nicely angled. We have recently moved our cat down to the city, so it has been exposed to him for the last couple of weeks. Cats apparently hate velvet, though--he won't sit on it and hasn't tried to so much as wave at the fabric with a single paw. We have kept the seat cushion covered with a length of heavy upholstery fabric and always had the back covered with numerous large throw pillows. The bench cushion cover zips off for cleaning, and its interior cushion is finished in a muslin casing with separately stitched compartments for the foam underlayment and down/feather topper. Easily seats four. Seat height is 19 inches, seat depth 24 inches.
