Seller's Notes:This is the dresser from the bedroom set my parents bought as newlyweds in 1956. It was made by a company called Kent Coffey which was located in North Carolina and is part of their "The Saratoga" collection. It is made of mahogany wood as you can see by the photo of the interior with the drawers out. The drawers are assembled with dovetail joints, an indication of quality construction. I have up-cycled it to appeal to a more modern aesthetic: First I painted it with two coats of BIN shellac-based primer to prevent any bleed-through. Then I applied two coats of Rustoleum Chalked paint in Charcoal with a high density foam roller. Finally I sealed it with 2 coats of crystal clear matte Varathane Ultimate Polyurethane applied with a polyester brush. To add some visual interest to the top surface, I did a light/dark streak effect. The hardware is original and has been hand painted by brush with the BIN shellac, a metallic silver paint, and then the polyurethane.
