Seller's Notes:Mid Century Black Lacquer Asian Chinoiserie Bar Cabinet Pagoda Geishas Scholar Scene This chinoiserie miniature storage cabinet circa mid 20th century features black lacquer finish with illustrated designs and inlays. The decorative nature of this petite cabinet makes it an impressive addition to any setting while offering a great shelved storage option. This has a nicely patinated lacquered frame which has been hand painted with birds and flowers. Features Double Doors Open to Single Shelf over shaped apron. Rectangular form and brass capped feet. Decorated in the Chinoiserie style, designs with social scenes set against the backdrop of a landscape of pagodas, birds and flowers. Geishas/Scholars are elegantly placed at the foregound of the landscape. The sides are accented by branches, flowers and birds. Patinated metal lockplates Great for use as consoles or altar cabinets in any entryway or room. A very good looking and well made piece, these are now highly collectable as art furniture. It’s a rare item that is hard to come by!
