Seller's Notes:A Dutch Indonesian cabinet from the Mid-19th century. This piece is signed by Van Vuong Hien. It's made of special Rosewood with a Mother of Pearl Abalone inlay. The textures and colors between the wood and the abalone bring a dancing energy to this piece. With its roots being Dutch and Indonesian, it creates a nice mixture of woodland and seashore elements. The fruitwood is strong and sturdy; being made from a thick tree trunk deep in the woods of the Netherlands that had traveled through countries to make its way to South East Asia. The Mother of Pearl Abalone are from shells fetched from the shoreline of Indonesia. Together they make this uniquely beautiful cabinet where the attention to detail is plain to see.
