Seller's Notes:A fantastic set of six vintage Norwegian Bambi dining chairs designed by Rastad & Relling and produced by Gustav Bahus. These are a great example of why Scandinavian mid-century furniture remains so easy to incorporate into contemporary interiors. The frames are slim and understated, but the sculpted teak backs give the chairs a lot of personality. Each backrest has a graceful curved shape that almost appears suspended between the narrow uprights, while tapered legs and slim stretchers keep the overall profile light. The dark upholstered seats provide a clean contrast against the warm teak frames without distracting from the woodwork. As a group of six, the repeated curved backs look especially good surrounding a simple round, oval, or rectangular dining table. The Bambi series was created through the Norwegian design office Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor and manufactured by Gustav Bahus, a Norwegian furniture maker closely associated with the studio during the mid-century period. The design emphasizes sculptural shaping and carefully considered joinery rather than decorative details. The chairs are stamped “Made in Norway.” This complete set of six would work equally well in a dedicated mid-century interior or mixed into a more contemporary dining room. They have enough visual character to stand out without overpowering a space and offer an excellent way to bring authentic Norwegian modern design into an everyday dining setting.
