Seller's Notes:Rare set of two Washington Skin™ side chairs designed by British-Ghanaian architect David Adjaye for Knoll, circa 2013. Rendered in a striking green, these sculptural chairs exemplify Adjaye’s exploration of structure, material, and balance, blending architectural rigor with expressive form. Part of the Washington Collection, the design features a faceted, skin-like surface that gives the chairs a dynamic visual presence while maintaining a refined, modern profile. Crafted from injection-molded, glass-reinforced nylon with aluminum and stainless steel elements, the chairs are both lightweight and exceptionally durable. Artist signature and year are present on the underside of each chair. Minor blemishes consistent with age and use are visible, as shown in photos; structurally sound and in good vintage condition. Bold statement pieces well suited for Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, or contemporary interiors.

The Washington Skeleton Aluminum Side Chair is the first of his two cantilevered chairs which creates a cross between sculptural and functional with its “play between propping and balancing.” The aluminum chair, with its geometric lattice seat, is made for indoor or outdoor use and comes in black, green, grey, or copper.
