Each soft pink coral-colored canvas strap is meticulously attached to the wooden frame with brass nails, adding a touch of sophistication. The tapered legs contribute to the chair's elegant and airy appearance. Walter Knoll famously advertised this chair with the keywords: ‘form, structure, economy,’ highlighting its beautiful design born out of material scarcity. Initially, leftover military nylon was ingeniously repurposed for the seat and backrest. Kindly note that the canvas is in used condition with signs of age and use, including slight fading of the fabric.

Jens Risom’s furniture, the first collection designed for and manufactured by Knoll, helped establish the company as an early provider of modern design in America. The Lounge Chair's combination of gentle curves and geometric angles exhibit Risom’s Scandinavian design sensibilities.
