Nicknamed “Chiclet” because of its rounded-edge cushions’ resemblance to pieces of Chiclet gum, this collection was designed by Ray Wilkes, a self-described minimalist. “The fact is, I like total simplicity,” he says. The “modular” in Modular Sofa Group comes from the original configurations, which could be built up to six seats wide. Today the collection is available as an armchair, two-seat sofa, or three-seat sofa. A playful silhouette that appears to float. This postmodern design has been reintroduced in new fabrics and hues. Beautifully smooth contours give this piece a fluid, uniform appearance. Innovative injection foam molding technique creates smooth shapes with no waste. Dubbed “Chiclet” due to its rounded-edge cushions that look like the classic gum.
