Seller's Notes:Brand new Black Leather with Santos Palisander wood shell Eames Lounge chair and ottoman. Purchased 10/30/24 and delivered from Design Within Reach 11/15/24. This was a stunning holiday gift from my husband! I have loved this iconic chair since first seeing it in The Metropolitan Museum of Art 25 years ago! The terribly unfortunate reason I am selling it is because of a back injury. This amazing chair is too big for my small frame and I don’t get enough lower back support in it. I was really dreading telling my husband that it wasn’t working for me physically. As an operating room nurse for many years, I have had my share of body injuries in a very physically demanding occupation. Unfortunately my lower back is very specific about what works and what doesn’t. Most reviews about this chair rave about the comfort of it. While I found it extremely comfortable when I sat in it at the Design Within Reach store, sitting for a two hour Netflix movie ruins me for a week with back pain. I need a chair that is not as deep as this one for my small frame. So that’s my sad story… I so wish I could keep this chair forever like I had planned. It is in perfect condition and has barely been sat in. I hope it goes to a wonderful new home and brings beauty, comfort and elegance to a new loving owner.
