Seller's Notes:This is the Bertoia Bar/Counter Stool, designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952 for Knoll.
It’s one of the most iconic pieces of mid-century modern furniture. The chrome wire grid construction is Bertoia’s signature — he famously said “the chairs are made of air,” referring to how the open wire structure makes space the primary material.
This appears to be the counter stool height version, with the original-style seat pad in olive/chartreuse leather. Knoll still produces these today, and authentic versions are quite valuable.
Black and white stools are suitable for outdoor use.
Chrome stool is not for outdoor use.
Optional seat pad secures to seat with metal snaps.
Counter Stool overall height is 38.5". If adding to an existing set, you may have the older 41" high models.
