Seller's Notes:This is a chaise lounge from Mason-Art in the D&D Building in New York City. The height is 17" at the ends, but 15" in the middle, as it curves up on both ends. There is a photo of the fabric up close to show that the color variations are not from wear, but from the pile of the velvet that makes the ovals. Only the ovals are velvet; the rest of the fabric is not. There was a cat in the apartment but she never sat on the chaise (she preferred laps and her heated bed), nor did she scratch it at all. It did not get sat on much because it was an auxiliary piece, used mostly for show. The chaise has graced a beautiful pre-war apartment in the Upper East Side of Manhattan and has always gotten admiring glances and comments.
