Seller's Notes:This is a very nice and unusual high-quality in the style of the famous Finn Juhl Chieftains Chair. This chair is unusual in that it is upholstered in a rich dark grey Joseph Noble TechFelt which is both luxurious and very durable. It makes a really refreshing change from the ubiquitous leather typically found on these chairs and, in our opinion, it makes the chair both more attractive and more comfortable. The frame appears to be walnut. Although there are no labels or marks on this chair, it is clearly a higher than normal quality edition. A clue to this is the fact that the underside of the armrests are enclosed and finished. By comparison, the underside of the armrests on the cheaper reproductions we have seen are open and unfinished. We have reason to believe that this MAY have been a DWR sample, but we cannot verify that. The chair is in excellent condition with only very minor wear and a couple of faint scratches to the wood. The upholstery has virtually no wear.

Finn Juhl was inspired by free, modern art and foreign cultures, and the chair came to signify a renewal in Danish furniture design when it was first presented in 1949. Today, it is produced only by the most skilled cabinetmakers, in either walnut or oak, and upholstered by hand in Denmark using the finest quality leathers.
