Seller's Notes:This is a magnificent and heavy Chinese desk, handmade in Beijing. This authentic piece showcases traditional craftsmanship, featuring a beautiful wood grain, likely Chinese elm, complemented by a lustrous lacquer finish. The top surface incorporates an elegant inset of woven rattan or cane matting. The desk is accented with solid brass handles on its drawers and rests on a structurally sophisticated base with curved legs and an attractive criss-cross stretcher. Please note that there is some light wear, including pitting and scratches, on the lacquer surface.
