Seller's Notes:Globe-Wernicke of Cincinnati originated the American stacking sectional bookcase and remained its preeminent manufacturer through the early twentieth century — and this two-section example, carrying its original interior label identifying it as Pattern 112, Grade 598, Standard D-12¼ Unit, is a fully documented piece of that production. Two stacking sections with lift-and-slide glass door mechanisms, rolled-edge top cap, and straight-leg base — the complete Globe-Wernicke configuration. The lift-and-slide door is the Globe-Wernicke signature: glass panels that raise and slide back into the unit rather than swinging outward, protecting books while keeping the footprint consistent. Both sections retain their mechanisms. The dark mahogany-toned finish is consistent with the upper grades of Globe-Wernicke production. The original paper label provides specific maker, pattern, grade, and depth documentation — a level of identification that sets this piece apart from the many unmarked barrister bookcases in the current market.
