Antique French Tilt-Top Wine Tasting Table
Product details
Seller's Notes:We found this piece at the Round Top Antique Festival in Texas, one of the largest and most storied antique gatherings in the country, and it's been a favorite ever since. It's an authentic French table de vendange, or wine tasting table, the kind traditionally used in vineyards during the grape harvest. The design is as clever as it is beautiful. The tilt-top mechanism lets the round top fold fully vertical, so the table tucks neatly against a wall for storage or to free up floor space when you need it, then folds flat again in seconds for dining or entertaining. It seats four to five people comfortably. The craftsmanship shows its age in all the best ways. A solid wood trestle base in warm brown grounds a charcoal-painted top, with genuine patina and character throughout that only decades of real use can produce. Roughly 41 inches across and standard dining height at 28 inches. We've owned it just six months and it's in excellent condition with no damage. We're only parting with it because we moved back to NYC and have space for a larger table. A rare, functional, and genuinely characterful piece for the right home.
