Seller's Notes:Its hard for me to put a year when this was made, its a raw urn that Romans use to pour wine out of. My history on this unique one of a kind piece..... a wonderful customer of mine died about 7 years ago she left me this piece cause she always would tell me about her trips with her husband to Italy. About 75 years ago, on one of their trips, along the Almafi coast they were having their usual espresso at a cafe watching their Italian friend doing construction on the outside of a building. Looking out over the beautiful waters, he noticed something floating in the distance. Excited about seeing something strange, he came down from the building, then into a boat to swoop up this urn. No one knows for how many years this was floating around the seas along the coast of Italy, but it has barnacles on it, he offered this unusual piece to his american, Italian speaking friends. Very excited about it, they on their trip back home bought a seat for it on the plane, in between the 2 of them. Ironic enough after hundreds of years this has been around floating, the 2 of them cracked the very top of it on the plane (not so bad). All glued together, it does not extract from the beauty and uniqueness of this piece. Because of the shape, its nestled into a wrought iron planter, they had a chain around the neck of the urn for safety reasons. I'm including the stand in the height of this piece
