Seller's Notes:These TWO magnificent side tables were purchased 45 years ago at Tepper Galleries auction house in New York City. They are early 20th century Japanese pieces, hand-made, and can be used in any room that calls for lovely end tables or a side table—in a hallway, as seen here, or on either side of a bed or on either side of a sofa in the living room. They are very striking with their black and red design work, and yet can adapt to any color scheme or any style—antique, early American, Danish elegant, even 50’s streamlined or present-day modern. They are in excellent shape, though one has some scratches on the bottom. It is hardly noticeable because, after all, they are antiques. They open up to plenty of storage and close with a simple, elegant metal fastener, as seen in one of the pictures. They are truly two beautiful works of art!
